Michael Alexander, also known as MEK.txt (b. 1990) is an Indonesian visual artist, typographer, designer, and developer. MEK.txt is a pseudonym for Michael's personal explorations in pixel art,
typography & design, and general dev pursuits. Professionally, I'm a Principal Designer in SANROK Studio, which I co-founded from 2011.
PIXEL ART
MEK.txt started his pixel art journey in 2022 by drawing daily for 3 years straight. This experience have been the foundation of his explorations in other places as well; in design and dev. He is also active in the fine art scene within blockchain communities— primarily in Tezos, Ethereum, and Solana. MEK.txt's works has been actively exhibited worldwide, both in group shows or solo. DESIGN & TYPOGRAPHY
As a graphic designer, MEK.txt has been focusing his practices in the field of typography. He started to make fonts in 2013. Most of his fonts are licensed under CC0, and the collection could be found in MEK.type collection on OBJKT and also DaFont, which are all free to download and use. Ever since his pixel art exploration in 2022, he has since focusing his font creation effort in pixelated fonts.
DEV & BUILD
Apart from being a website developer in his professional work, MEK.txt also co-founded DOGGODOG Labs in 2024 for all of his experimental dev works. DOGGODOG is a two-person lab and playground co-founded by MEK.txt and JackTezos, with him acting as the Lead Product in the lab. DOGGODOG has shipped two products; SBJKT and Bandog.pet, both webapps that works as a power tool in Tezos blockchain.
